Clara is currently accepting new clients for autism assessments.
Clara offers neurodiversity-affirming autism assessments to adults and adolescents (16+). She aims to provide an affirming assessment process by combining evidence-based practice with her lived experience knowledge.

What does the Process Involve?
Below is an overview of what an assessment with Clara would include. Some details of the assessment process, including the tools used and the total number of appointments can vary somewhat between clients. This is to make sure that the assessment is person-centred and tailored to each individual’s needs and goals for their assessment. If you have any questions or would like to pursue an assessment, please submit an enquiry.
-
The first step of the assessment process is to complete an intake process. This is for you to ask questions about the assessment, and for me to ask you some questions about your goals for the assessment, and how I can best help you. This involves completing a consent form and an intake form, and a brief phone call (or zoom if preferred).
-
I will send through some questionnaires to complete. I might also send some questionnaires to other people in your life (like a parent or partner) if you are happy for me to do so. I will also ask for you to send through other relevant documents you have (like from any previous assessments).
-
We will have a 2-hour interview appointment. This is to gather relevant information about your life now, as well as relevant information about what things were like for you as a child and as a teenager.
-
We will have a second, 1.5-hour appointment to complete any relevant assessments. Depending on your needs and preferences, this will include either the ADOS-2 or the MIGDAS-2, and may include other structured assessment components as needed.
-
If you are happy for me to do so, I will organise a telephone interview with one or more people in your life who may be able to provide extra information to help with the assessment. For example, this could be with a parent to ask questions about your early childhood, or with your current psychologist if you have one.
-
I will put together all of the information we gathered during the assessment and your report. Once the report is finished, we will have a 1-hour feedback session to talk about the outcome of the assessment, go through the report, and discuss any recommendations.
